Why WWE May Crown RAW Star World Champion After Seth Rollins’ Injury

Seth Rollins may have to relinquish his title because of his recent injury.

It is being said that the WWE World Heavyweight Champion suffered an arm injury during his match with the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel. This injury may force WWE to pivot and strip Rollins of his title. This would lead to the number 1 contender, CM Punk, and the man who betrayed Rollins, Bron Breakker on RAW, fighting each other in a quest to capture the vacant championship.

If that happens, Sam Roberts believes WWE could build an interesting storyline around these two superstars while Rollins recuperates at home from his injury. On his Notsam Wrestling podcast, Roberts highlighted that if CM Punk defeats Breakker for the title, then that would put Breakker in a position where he must prove himself in front of everyone.

I also think there’s a scenario where CM Punk beats Bron Breaker, that in that moment you just put the title on CM Punk, that way the title is on a big, big star and now you see Bron Breaker in this situation where he’s not as sure of himself as he was or maybe he’s still as sure of himself as he was but now he’s got to prove something.
Roberts said, “You know that you’ve got this situation where it’s like, ‘Okay, I took Seth Rollins out. I have to prove that I’m the man.’ And if CM Punk just beat me, now you’ve got these two on a collision course. Now you’ve got Braun Breaker going after CM Punk.” (From 11:42)

In the same podcast, Roberts also talked about why WWE should strip Rollins of his title if he’s injured (emphasis on the “if”).

“I think I would just rather see the World Title get taken off of Seth Rollins. I think I would rather see the World Heavyweight Championship get vacated,” Roberts pointed.
