WWE Raw Match Abandoned Due To Injury

Monday Night Raw in Greenville, South Carolina saw one match called off by the referee as WWE star Candice LeRae was unable to continue – but it all may just be part of the story.

On the October 23rd edition of WWE Raw, Candice LeRae found herself on the wrong end of a backstage attack by Xia Li. That led to a match between the two women on Raw in Greenville, South Carolina which was LeRae’s first on Raw since August and only her 10th on the red brand in the entirety of 2023.

Candice LeRae’s only 2023 victory on Raw came all the way back in February against Piper Niven and she was stopped in her tracks from picking up another win thanks to Li. Xia Li was taking part in only the second Raw match of her career with the other coming in June 2022 and she was looking to impress as she continues to play mind games with Becky Lynch.

WWE Referee Calls Off Candice LeRae & Xia Li

A matter of moments into the match between LeRae and Li, Xia Li rocked her opponent with a kick that sent her crashing to the mat. Candice LeRae attempted to get to her feet but couldn’t do so and the referee waved the match off with Li picking up a win as a result of the stoppage.

Later in the evening, LeRae was seen being comforted by Johnny Gargano, Indi Hartwell, Tommaso Ciampa, Kayden Carter, and Katana Chance as she received treatment from medical staff. Whether or not the injury proves to be legitimate or is just part of WWE’s storylines remains to be seen.

Elsewhere on Monday Night Raw, one current WWE champion picked up the first singles match win on the main roster of their career.
