WWE NXT Star Slams Injury Reports

Chase U WWE NXT

WWE star Thea Hail has had something to say about Dave Meltzer’s recent report on injuries in NXT which seemed to suggest that the training regime was to blame.

Sol Ruca is the latest NXT star to be struck down with an injury as the impressive young star has suffered an issue with their ACL and was apparently written off television by an attack angle which was shown on television.

Prior to Ruca’s injury, Nikkita Lyons and Wendy Choo were also out of action due to being hurt and things looked dicey for Raw’s newest star Indi Hartwell when she seemed to be hurt during a recent NXT Women’s Title defence before making a comeback to retain her title.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that many of the injuries in NXT in recent weeks are being put down to the training regime in the Performance Center:

“There are those who have blamed the current workouts they are putting the talent through as being counterproductive due to all the injuries. One person noted the new strength and conditioning coach has talent lifting heavy all the time and there is a feeling that heavy lifting that puts any stress on knees, shoulders or backs, is counterproductive for a wrestling style that also puts so much stress on those same body parts.

The former coach was about doing athletic drills and trying to develop explosiveness and the complaints are that now it is more about increasing strength in different lefts by going heavy.”

NXT star Thea Hail has taken exception to this assertion on social media in response to a post regarding the report:

“i don’t know where these dudes get their info from but this is just not true”
