WWE Meeting Possible Buyer After WrestleMania 39

Vince McMahon WWE

Talk of a sale of WWE ramped up following the return of Vince McMahon to the company in the first week of 2023, and now it looks like discussions for such an event are imminent.

Vince McMahon stunned the wrestling world when he cut short his retirement in January 2023 and forced his way back onto WWE’s Board of Directors. Within days of that move, he was named Executive Chairman and rumours of a sale of the company began to intensify.

Several potential purchasers have been mooted with UFC owner Endeavor seemingly indicating they were out of the running recently, while the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund could be the only potential bidder able to stump up a rumoured asking price of $9 billion.

CNBC has now reported that sale talks could begin after WrestleMania 39 with the company expected to “meet with potential buyers” in April “in preparation for first-round bids.” Although it is also noted that there are no guarantees a transaction will take place.

Those talks come as WWE looks to push two US states to legalise gambling on some of its matches which could lead to a complete overhaul of creative and talent being left in the dark about wins or losses until just a few hours before their bouts.
