WWE Looking To Renew Current Champion’s Contract
WWE is reportedly impressed by one of its wrestlers and intends to keep them for an extended run.
Dragon Lee is currently one-half of the tag team champions on RAW with AJ Styles.
The duo challenged then-tag team champions Finn Balor and JD McDonagh of The Judgment Day on the October 20 taping of the red brand.
The babyfaces secured their place as the new title holders after Styles hit the Styles Clash on Balor and pinned him.
Elsewhere, Lee has also had a fruitful singles run, main eventing the AAA Heroes Inmortales 2025 show, where he unsuccessfully challenged Dominik Mysterio for the AAA Mega Championship.
Lee joined WWE in 2022, making his presence felt in NXT. He was immediately thrown into the title mix, but wouldn’t win one until NXT Deadline in 2023, where he defeated Mysterio to claim the NXT North American Championship.
He was then drafted to the main roster, where he joined the Latino World Order.
Lee returned to NXT in November 2024 and competed for the Speed Championship, defeating Andrade to win his second title in the promotion. He held the title till May, losing to El Grande Americano.
The 30-year-old’s current contract is expected to run till mid-2026, with some reports in September suggesting that he had one year left on his contract.
WWE Tag Team Titles To Be Defended On Next Week’s RAW
AJ Styles and Dragon Lee will defend their WWE Tag Team Championships on RAW next week.
In a backstage segment, the champions were confronted by Judgment Day’s Finn Balor and JD McDonagh, who were unhappy about their title loss and wanted a rematch.
Earlier in the night, McDonagh defeated Sheamus in a singles match, but not before Balor interfered in the match, hitting the Celtic Warrior with his shillelagh.
