WWE Legend Wanted To Stalk Lita
A WWE legend has admitted to wanting to stalk Lita.
As part of a storyline, that is, of course.
Mickie James is an icon in the Stamford promotion, of which she served as the Women’s World Champion six times.
At the time of her retirement, she was signed to Total Nonstop Action. She wrestled in her final match at 2023 Bound for Glory, where she lost to Trinity, failing to win the Impact Knockouts World Championship.
During a recent appearance on Chris Van Vliet’s Insight, James revealed that she could wrestle in a few more matches despite having nothing more to prove.
I could do 10 more. But it’s also with the career that I’ve been so blessed to have, and the moments that I’ve been able to have and the people that I’ve been able to work with, I could retire tomorrow and be a happy woman. I don’t have anything else, I think, to prove in the wrestling business, but I also love it, and there’s nothing like it.
Mickie James Wanted To Stalk WWE Hall Of Famer Lita
In WWE, one of Mickie James’ most popular storylines is where she played Trish Stratus’ obsessive ‘superfan.’
According to the TNA Hall of Famer, she had initially pitched Lita as the wrestler she would stalk due to their storied history in the indies.
The original pitch that I wrote for this character, this crazy kind of super fan, was for Lita. But because I was friends with Lita, and I felt like she was really a mentor to me in a lot of ways when I was doing the independents and up and coming… If she was ever at a show or she was ever close, she would come. She would watch these and she would give me advice, and that advice still rings true today. She just helped me a lot and I think she looked out for me and I think she fought for me.
While that storyline did not come to pass in WWE, James did get a brief rivalry with Lita, highlighting her rise as a top heel, as the veteran star looked at retirement.
