WWE Legend Told John Cena He Needed To Learn Specific Aspect Of Wrestling
A WWE legend has shed light on John Cena’s formative years as a wrestler.
Arn Anderson is renowned as one of the founding members of The Four Horsemen in Jim Crockett Promotions in 1985. The original lineup also contained Ric Flair, Ole Anderson, and Tully Blanchard.
While the faction witnessed multiple incarnations, Arn and Flair always featured in the group.
However, Anderson retired in 1997 due to a neck injury. While he was part of the last incarnation of the faction, which included Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko, Anderson rarely wrestled.
After signing with WWE in 2001, John Cena was called up to the main roster in 2002 to train under Anderson.
During an interview with WrestleBinge, he recalled Cena’s inexperience as a performer and how he taught him the specific aspect of storytelling, which transformed him into the superstar he is today.
John Cena was handed to me by Vince McMahon. And [Vince] said ‘We got a kid that’s got some potential here, Arn. Teach him. He’s all yours.’ He didn’t know s**t from Shinola when he started. I was his agent for 10 straight years at least with WWF. I took all of his matches. I helped him learn the simple art of storytelling and getting heat was something that John was foreign to him. John Cena Knocked Out On SmackDown
John Cena’s first TV appearance at an Ireland taping ended with him getting knocked out.
Earlier in the evening, he was met in the ring by his Clash in Paris opponent, Logan Paul.
The silver-tongued veteran tore the YouTube star a new one before labeling him a parasite. A frustrated Paul tried to attack Cena, but was taken out with an Attitude Adjustment.
Backstage, Drew McIntyre gave Paul a pep talk, telling him to do whatever it took to make a statement.
After the main event, John Cena was shown leaving the arena when SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis approached him with an update about Brock Lesnar.
However, before he could tell him more, Logan Paul came out of nowhere and hit Cena with a One Lucky Punch, leaving him knocked out.
Meanwhile, WWE announced a new PLE, which Cena will headline. Read everything about it here.
