WWE Legend Tipped To Come Out Of Retirement To Face John Cena

John Cena has a few appearances left in his retirement, and many wrestlers could be his final opponent.

With each passing day, a new name pops up that could challenge the 17-time World Champion at Saturday Night’s Main Event XLII on December 13.

Cena’s next appearance will be on WWE RAW in Boston, Massachusetts, on November 10. The other two dates before his final match are November 17 (RAW/New York) and November 29 (Survivor Series/San Diego, California).

As of this moment, Gunther is tipped to be his last opponent. The Ring General was also the opponent of Goldberg, who competed in his last match at Saturday Night’s Main Event XL in July.

During a recent appearance on Chris Van Vliet’s Insight, WWE personality Peter Rosenberg named an unlikely retired superstar as Cena’s final opponent.

We’ve talked about all the people who make sense, and a name that just hasn’t gotten mentioned very much, it’s super unlikely, and I’m probably reaching here, but when you think about what they represented a certain time, the last Saturday Night’s Main Event happens to be in DC, if you hear this (plays Batista’s theme). … I think he meant (he’s retired), and I respect that.

I personally as a fan, and who cares what we think, it’s about what he wants in his life. But I’m selfish, and I’m a fan. I’m not satisfied with the editing. I would love to see Batista one more time. I think there’s more. I just think there’s one more story to be told.

Batista Returned From WWE Retirement In 2018

Batista’s last wrestling match was on April 7, 2019, at WrestleMania 35, where he faced Triple H in a No Holds Barred match.

Before this match, Triple H had not beaten Batista ever in WWE.

The rivalry took a personal turn after The Animal targeted Ric Flair to get The Cerebral Assassin to sign up for the bout.

In a heavily physical match, Triple H managed to come out victorious, as Batista announced his retirement shortly after.

The 56-year-old former wrestler currently enjoys a successful Hollywood career, and whether or not he would disrupt that lifestyle remains to be seen.
