One WWE Hall of Famer has confirmed that their 33-year career in the ring is now definitely over.

More than 20 years after their rivalry helped revolutionise tag team wrestling in WWE, The Dudleyz and The Hardys were able to shockingly renew hostilities in TNA. The Dudley Boyz laid down a challenge to their old rivals for One Final Table match at Bound For Glory with The Hardys’ TNA Tag Team Title on the line.

That match took on a new wrinkle when Matt and Jeff Hardy were able to win the NXT Tag Team Championship at Showdown, making them double champions.

At Bound For Glory, the two teams rolled back the years the best that they could as the Dudleyz came to the ring with Spike Dudley, and were referred to by both their WWE and TNA names during the bout. Ultimately, The Hardys retained their gold, picking up the win when they drove Bubba Ray Dudley through a table.

After the match, The Dudley Boyz handed over their boots to their opponents, indicating that this was their final match and they were now retired.

D-Von Dudley Ends WWE Hall Of Fame Career

D-Von Dudley has now released a documentary looking at that match on his YouTube channel, where he was seen assuring his children that he won’t be getting in the ring again:

Daddy’s not doing it anymore. So you don’t have to worry okay. Daddy’s done. I won’t do it again.

Dudley noted that he’s definitely now retired from the ring as he thanked those who supported him in his final outing:

Like I said, my back feels great. My leg feels great. I forgot what it was like to have this type of pain. Could I do it again? I could, but do I want to? No. Like I said before, this was it. I’m walking away. You can’t get any better than that match, what we did.

For those that thought we were old and done, we proved them wrong. But for those that showed their love, thank you. 33 years, I couldn’t ask for a better career. Thank you so much. And again, I’ll say it, humbly, testify.
