WWE Told Karrion Kross To Cut Offensive Promo On Bray Wyatt After His Passing

Karrion Kross Scarlett WWE

WWE really asked Karrion Kross to cut a promo on Bray Wyatt after the ex-WWE Champion’s death.

Since his WWE release, Karrion Kross has made a name for himself on the indie circuit and is doing pretty well in the territory. The ex-WWE star has been very candid about his tenure in WWE, openly discussing both the positive and negative aspects he lived through.

While speaking to Vince Russo and Jonathan Coachman on the recent episode of The Coach And Bro Show, Karrion Kross shared one disturbing incident that happened to him in WWE.

Karrion Kross Rejected Insensitive Bray Wyatt Tribute Script

One time, Karrion Kross was asked to deliver a promo about Bray Wyatt after Wyatt had passed away. The promo was written poorly, and Kross found its content personally offensive since he was a close friend of the late star. He immediately brought the promo to the lead WWE writers to ask if it was officially approved or discussed.

The lead writers told him they did not approve the promo and that he did not have to follow the direction from the person who sent it. Karrion Kross was mortified because there was no official chain of command or discussion about such a sensitive tribute promo, and someone had tried to push it as if it were official when it was not.

He emphasized how harmful it could have been, not just to him but also to Bray Wyatt’s family and legacy, if he had delivered the offensive promo on television.

One time, I was given a promo about Bray from someone, and this is after Windham had passed. It was a Saturday night. It was like 10:00 at night. It was a text. It wasn’t even you know what the sides are supposed to look like when they go out. I got this text. It was at the end of a pay-per-view. I read it. I was mortified. Like, I was actually personally offended, being a friend of his, and the person had sent me that, and they said they want you to say it exactly like this.
Who’s they? Who were they? You know, and so I just took it to the lead writers immediately because, like I said, it was disgusting to me. It was written very poorly as well. So I say, ‘Hey, did this come from you guys, and was there a discussion about this? because never in my life have I ever been given a promo where I’m told to say it exactly like this, or not never in my life, but not recently.
And they’re like that never came from us and we never saw that and you don’t have to listen to that person ever again and it’s like wow that’s insane like my friend is no longer with us there was not even a discussion about this and you’re sending this to me saying it’s you know you’re insinuating that it’s gone through a chain of command it never did.
