4-Time WWE Champion To Win John Cena’s Tournament?
John Cena’s “Last Time is Now” tournament will determine his final WWE opponent for his retirement match on December 13, 2025, during Saturday Night’s Main Event at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
The tournament will include 16 superstars and kicks off on November 10 on Raw at TD Garden in Boston. First round matches include Rusev vs. Damian Priest and Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Sheamus, with more participants to be announced by Nick Aldis on Friday Night SmackDown later this week.
Speaking on his NotSam Wrestling podcast, Sam Roberts stated he wants to see 4-time WWE Champion Gunther win the “Last Time is Now” tournament and face Cena in his retirement match.
For me, Gunther winning the tournament is what I want, what I think is important, what I think is the best case scenario. (From 0:14 – 0:23)
Jey Uso Wants To Fight Ex-WWE Champion Gunther Again
Jey Uso won the 2025 Royal Rumble and challenged Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 41. He managed to defeat the 38-year-old star by submission at WrestleMania, but later lost the title back to Gunther on Raw.
During the October 27 edition of the Raw Recap podcast, Uso expressed his desire to fight Gunther in a singles match again because The Ring General, along with some other wrestlers, brought the best out of him inside the ring.
I want to fight Gunther again. Gunther made me better, man. Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre made me better, Uce. Coming to Monday Night RAW, I was going toe-to-toe with him every week, Uce. So, they taught me the game on what it’s like to stand on your own two feet. I belong here, you know what I mean? It took me a minute to figure that out myself, but I belong here. No one is going to knock me off the top.
