Top WWE Star Targets John Cena’s Intercontinental Title

John Cena became the new WWE Intercontinental Champion on the November 10, 2025, episode of WWE Raw in Boston.

It was a historic moment as The Never Seen 17 defeated Dominik Mysterio, ending Mysterio’s 204-day reign. The match was made official by WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H after Dom interrupted Cena’s farewell promo. This victory marked Cena’s accomplishment of a major milestone in WWE, i.e., becoming the Grand Slam Champion, further cementing his legendary status in WWE history.

Later in the show, LA Knight gave a backstage interview with Byron Saxton, buzzing with confidence about his spot in John Cena’s “Last Time Is Now” tournament. Knight said straight up that he’s the best in the business right now and believes this tournament is his chance to claim the Intercontinental Title.

LA Knight Is After John Cena’s IC Title

Knight is eyeing Cena’s newly won IC title, and he might get a shot at it as he’s a participant in the John Cena tournament. His match in the tournament is scheduled for the November 14 episode of SmackDown. His opponent remains unrevealed, adding an exciting layer of mystery to the competition.

“John Cena’s got a little something that I want,” Knight said, hinting at targeting John Cena for the title.

This week on WWE Raw, new entrants were announced for John Cena’s “Last Time Is Now” tournament, which determines his final opponent for his retirement match in December. The fresh faces added to the bracket included Gunther, who will return from a 3-month hiatus to clash with Je’Von Evans from NXT. It was also announced that Solo Sikoa will take on another mystery opponent in the tournament.

The Last Time in Now tournament began this week on RAW in Boston. The fans saw Rusev pick up a huge victory over Damian Priest, and Sheamus defeated Shinsuke Nakamura.
