Retired WWE Star Admits They Have The Itch To Return All The Time

Former WWE star Summer Rae, whose real name is Danielle Moinet, wants to return to the Stamford-based company.

This year, the fans saw the return of two Divas Era stars. Nikki Bella returned at the beginning of the year in Royal Rumble, whereas AJ lee returned home a few weeks before WrestlePalooza PLE. Earlier in September, Summer Rae also teased a comeback to the Stamford-based company with a cryptic tweet.

Summer Rae Misses Her Time in WWE

Fast forward to October, the retired star, who spent six years with WWE from 2011 to 2017, had a recent interview with talkSPORT where she looked back at her career in the Stamford-based company. She stated that she’s still friends with many of the stars from the Stamford-based promotion. She also stated that she gets the urge to return to the promotion from time to time.

“I was with WWE for six years, which is a good solid run. I’d been gone a little bit, went back three years ago for the Royal Rumble – they did not have an all-women’s Royal Rumble when I was growing up.

“It was my dream, it was everything I wanted to do. We were on the road a good 300 days a year. It’s completely non-stop, but when it’s what you’ve wanted to do, it doesn’t feel like work.

“I’m still very good friends with a lot of the girls and a lot of the guys in WWE. I still watch it avidly, I’m such a big fan. It’s just a part of me and always will be. I get the itch to go back all the time.”

Rae’s time with the Stamford-based company officially ended in October 2017 after she was inactive for over a year due to injuries. She returned to the ring at the 2022 Royal Rumble and participated in the women’s rumble match at number 23, and attacked Natalya. But she was quickly eliminated in less than a minute. It was her last match in the company and the wrestling industry altogether.
