WWE Introducing Brand New Women’s Title

Triple H reveals new WWE title

A brand new title is coming to WWE with the women of the company now having yet another championship to go after.

Currently in WWE, the women’s division has five championships they can compete for with Liv Morgan, Nia Jax, Alba Fyre, Isla Dawn, Roxanne Perez, and Kelani Jordan all holding gold across the main roster and NXT but that is all about to change.

Taking to social media, Triple H announced that on September 4th the WWE Speed Women’s Championship Tournament will begin, airing exclusively on X:

Time to turn #WWESpeed up another notch… excited to announce that the WWE Speed Women’s Championship Tournament will premiere Sept. 4 at 12pm ET / 9am PT, exclusively on @X.

What Is WWE Speed?

At the end of March, WWE announced a brand new title was coming as the WWE Speed Championship was born. The title would be won by the winner of a tournament that would bring a whole new concept to the company.

The WWE Speed Championship tournament was contested in matches with a three-minute time limit and aired exclusively on X/Twitter. Johnny Gargano, Angel, Bronson Reed, Cedric Alexander, JD McDonagh, Axiom, Ricochet, and Dragon Lee were the eight men involved in the tournament with Ricochet becoming the first male WWE Speed Champion.

Andrade is the current WWE Speed Champion having defeated Ricochet for the gold in a match that aired on June 14th. Ricochet has since left WWE and is expected to join AEW in the near future.
