WWE Icon-Turned-AEW Star Confirms Retirement Is Near

Cope Adam Copeland Christian Cage AEW

One iconic WWE star who has turned into an AEW stalwart has confirmed that time is running out on their career.

The wrestling world was left heartbroken back in 2011 when Edge was forced into retirement due to injury. He was then inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, and it looked like that would be that for the Rated-R Superstar.

However, to the delight of everyone, Edge returned to WWE in 2020, but his return was somewhat thwarted by the global pandemic. Edge then made another return to win the 2021 Royal Rumble, which allowed him to headline WrestleMania once more.

In October 2023, his career took another huge twist as the man now known as Adam Copeland made his debut in AEW. He’s been a firm part of the roster since then, but Copeland has been out of action for several months after being betrayed by FTR.

Fans are waiting for the star to make his AEW return, but in the meantime, he’s reminded everyone that his days in the ring are numbered.

Adam Copeland Has Not Got Long Left In AEW

Taking to social media, Adam Copeland reflected on his legendary career, thanking fans for singing his song while admitting that there isn’t a lot of time left for him in the ring:

On Canada Day 33 yrs ago I made my wrestling debut. In Oakland Raiders Zubaz and a pair of Converse. Nowhere to go but up. Since then, I’ve travelled the world. Literally. Everywhere you can think of. From Moose Landing to Monterrey, from Bloodvein to Bucharest. It’s been a long, fruitful, soul expanding, soul diminishing, amazing, frustrating, exhausting, exhilarating journey over 3 decades.

The best part? I hear every one of you when I blast out of that entranceway and sing Metalingus at the top of your lungs. It’s never been lost on me what a privilege that is. Australia I’m lookin at you! It won’t last a lot longer, so I’m gonna soak in every second. Thank you for coming along on this ride with me. #happycanadaday🇨🇦
