WWE Has Discussed Huge LA Knight Match For WrestleMania 40
LA Knight is hoping to have his first WrestleMania 40 and it could even be a title match.
At WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles at SoFi Stadium, a lot of fans were clamoring for LA Knight to be on the card. At that time, Knight was a rising star in WWE that was building momentum and becoming one of the most popular wrestlers in the company. However, WWE chose to keep Knight off the two-night card.
Going into WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia, it would seem like Knight should be in a big match at WWE’s biggest show because he has challenged for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title held by Roman Reigns.
LA Knight’s path to WrestleMania 40 could become clearer if he were to win the Elimination Chamber match on February 24th in a match that also includes Randy Orton, Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley, Kevin Owens and the US Champion Logan Paul.
While WWE fans are currently arguing about who Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, The Rock, Seth Rollins and others should be facing at WrestleMania 40, LA Knight was mentioned by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select during a Q&A. During that discussion, Sapp mentioned WWE has contemplated a championship match for Knight against the US Champion Logan Paul at WrestleMania 40.
“That was the plan. I don’t still know if it is the plan, but that was discussed at one point.”
Before LA Knight gets to Elimination Chamber, he has a match with Drew McIntyre on the February 23rd edition of Smackdown. That match has already been taped and the results are here.
LA Knight Has A Special Entrance In Mind For WrestleMania 40
During an appearance on WWE’s The Bump earlier this week, the name of Super Bowl 58 halftime performer Usher was brought up. Usher’s most popular song is arguably the 2004 hit called “YEAH” and WWE fans know LA Knight is known for saying “YEAH” during promo. That led to LA Knight suggesting that perhaps WWE could get Usher to perform an entrance song for Knight at WrestleMania 40.
“Wait a minute. Can we get this set up? Is he coming to WrestleMania for my entrance or what?… I’m coming out and I’m doing it [performing ‘Yeah’] with him. Let’s go.”
It may seem like a stretch at this point, but in WWE, you just never know what might happen.
