WWE Hall Of Famer Says William Regal Is Much Better Out Of The Ring

WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff highlighted the immense value that William Regal brings to the wrestling world, emphasising his impact outside of the ring.

Speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, Bischoff reflected on the multi-faceted career of the British wrestling icon, noting that while Regal was an exceptional in-ring performer, his greatest contributions to WWE came from his work as a coach and mentor.

He’s another example of someone who did well but is probably more valuable as a coach or teacher than he ever could’ve been in the ring.

The former WCW President stressed that his comment was not a critique of Regal’s wrestling skills, which have earned wide acclaim throughout the industry.

Not because he wasn’t good in the ring. But because he’s so incredibly good at teaching the art.

Bischoff added, emphasising Regal’s unique ability to convey the nuances of professional wrestling to emerging talent. William Regal’s wrestling career is storied, spanning decades and showcasing his technical mastery. From his early days on the British wrestling circuit to his transition to WCW and WWE in the United States, Regal earned a reputation for his refined, European-style technique and collected numerous championships along the way.

Despite his in-ring accomplishments, Bischoff believes Regal’s work beyond the spotlight has had a greater impact. In recent years, Regal has dedicated himself to developing future wrestling stars, notably influencing WWE’s NXT brand. His current position as WWE’s Vice-President of Global Talent Development involves scouting new talent, refining character work, and elevating the ring skills of aspiring wrestlers.

What Struggles Did Eric Bischoff Say William Regal Had When He Started With WCW?

Eric Bischoff spoke about the difficulties William Regal when he started in WCW and said that the issues were not any fault on Regal’s part but that WCW was at one of the lowest points in its history in 1993 when he joined and Bischoff himself was looking to leave the company until Bill Watts was fired and he got the job as executive producer.
