WWE Hall Of Famer Says David Arquette’s WCW Title Win Was Worse Than The Fingerpoke Of Doom

WWE Hall Of Famer Says David Arquette's WCW Title Win Was Worse Than The Fingerpoke Of Doom

WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash spoke about David Arquette’s controversial WCW World Heavyweight Championship win.

On his “Kliq This” podcast according to Nash, this win harmed WCW’s reputation even more than the infamous Finger Poke of Doom event. On his podcast, Nash said:

It’s crazy, but this is how much this sh*t matters, I absolutely forgot that Arquette was champion. So, is that making David Arquette the champion, that’s not worse than the Finger Poke?

Nash also addressed Eric Bischoff’s statement that everyone at the company backed Arquette’s victory as champion. Opposing Bischoff’s statement, Nash thinks that Diamond Dallas Page did not know about the decision to make Arquette champion. Nash remarked:

And then they cut to Dallas and Dallas goes, he goes ‘I’m like, are you f**king kidding me?’ Like, obviously, Dallas wasn’t in on it.

Furthermore, Nash doubted that Arquette’s championship reign drew significant mainstream media attention. He showed his doubt by comparing it to other controversial events.

No. Owen got crossover press. Yeah, burn a bag of puppies you get crossover press. No, man. As the boys would say, ‘It’s turn-the-channel heat.’ Did it make you pi*sed off, yeah. So, it gave an element of heat? Yeah, ‘turn-the-channel-and-never-come back’ heat.

Which Ex-WWE Star Did Kevin Nash Say Isn’t In AEW Because Of Their Physique?

Kevin Nash joked that former WWE Superstar Steve Blackman isn’t in AEW because he is still in good shape. Nash spoke about the six-time WWE Hardcore Champion and how he found him easy to get along with and credited his impressive physique as a result of his excellent work ethic.
