WWE Hall Of Famer Recalls What Made John Cena Intriguing Prospect
John Cena made his WWE debut in 2002, and he is retiring in 2025. He put in 23 years of hard work with the company to create his legacy.
Ever since his retirement tour started, he has given some incredible moments to the WWE Universe. While not all of them may have worked out, it was still worth giving the fans different creative angles to showcase The Champ’s talents.
While the WWE Universe will always want him to return for another match, John Cena has claimed that he is 100% done after his final match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
John Cena always strived to become better
Ahead of Cena’s final match, Jim Ross spoke on the Grilling JR podcast about why Never Seen 17 was a great prospect and what qualities made him a top pick to be a WWE Superstar. He was the head of talent relations when WWE signed Cena.
He revealed that John Cena never missed a practice and always kept getting better, and put in the hard work every single day.
I don’t know if he’ll be known as the greatest of all time to the masses, but he’s certainly one of the small handful of talents that could have that distinction. He got better and better… He worked hard. That’s what happens when you find out that a guy you’re recruiting was the captain of his college football team, was a guy that never missed a practice.
I got lucky on that deal… He just kept getting better, because he’s an athlete, a real, true athlete who wanted to get better and wanted to represent his profession admirably and responsibly. [H/t: Wrestling News]
