WWE Hall Of Famer Proclaims Eddie Guerrero As The Greatest Of All Time
WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has paid tribute to the late Eddie Guerrero, hailing him as “the best of all time.”
The wrestling legend shared his thoughts on Guerrero during a recent episode of his podcast, The Kurt Angle Show, where he reflected on their time working together and expressed his admiration for Guerrero’s talent in the ring. Angle commended Guerrero’s exceptional abilities and resilience, emphasising the impact of a career-altering injury sustained during his time with WCW.
Eddie Guerrero, one of the best of all time… I don’t know if people realise this but Eddie broke his leg and his hip when he was in WCW, and when he came back he was never the same. Even though he was better than everybody else still, he was never the same in WWE as he was in WCW. It slowed him down just a little bit, but he’s still the best of all time because that’s how good he was.
Angle’s admiration for Guerrero extended to their memorable encounters in the WWE ring, notably their clash for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania XX in 2004. Despite their storied rivalry, Angle expressed a longing to have faced Guerrero at the peak of his physical prowess.
I would have loved to wrestle Eddie before he broke his leg. Don’t get me wrong I loved Eddie afterwards, he was absolutely one of my favourites to ever work with.
Eddie Guerrero’s legacy in the wrestling world is marked by his remarkable journey from adversity to triumph. Following a life-altering car wreck on New Year’s Day 1999, Guerrero joined WWE a year later in January 2000. His crowning achievement came in 2004 when he reached the pinnacle of the WWE by capturing the WWE Championship. Tragically, Guerrero’s untimely passing in 2005 left an indelible mark on the wrestling community, cementing his status as a beloved and revered figure in the industry.
