Wrestling legend Kevin Sullivan speculated on what could have taken place if Eddie Guerrero and Shawn Michaels had stepped in the ring together.

The wrestling world has long speculated about the potential clash between two legendary figures, Eddie Guerrero and Shawn Michaels. However, this dream match remained unrealised, with Guerrero’s untimely passing in 2005 and Michaels’ retirement in 2010 preventing the stars from ever meeting in the ring.

On an episode of Tuesdays with the Taskmaster, former WCW Tag Team Champion Kevin Sullivan delved into the hypothetical scenario of orchestrating this epic encounter, rumoured to have been a possibility at WrestleMania 22 prior to Guerrero’s passing. Sullivan stressed the importance of a clean finish, noting that the magnetic personalities of Guerrero and Michaels would have drawn massive crowds regardless of the outcome.

A clean finish wouldn’t hurt. Just their personalities alone would have drawn money. So, if you toss up who goes over, for a long time, and at the end of this WrestleMania, babyfaces seem to get their come-up when it’s their time. So, I think that, would Eddie have been the babyface then, or would he have been the heel? Who knows? But I thought Eddie was one of the greatest performers of all time, everybody does.

Sullivan drew parallels to a recent dream match between Bryan Danielson and Will Ospreay at AEW Dynasty, reflecting on the potential of a Guerrero-Michaels showdown, Sullivan stated:

At that time, could there have been a better match? I know you talk about Bryan Danielson and Ospreay. I’m sure that if we had that Eddie, Shawn match, that might have been that match for this generation.
