WWE Hall Of Famer Compares Dominik Mysterio To The Rock

The Rock

A WWE Hall of Famer sees Dominik Mysterio in the same category as The Rock and Randy Orton.

Dominik Mysterio has enjoyed an incredible 2023, and his stock has arguably never been higher. In fact, seemingly to demonstrate that point, Dominik Mysterio will be CM Punk’s opponent when he returns to the ring.

In the eyes of many, the former North American Champion was always destined for a life in the ring, with both his father and grandfather finding success inside the squared circle.

In this regard, Mayterio shares something in common with The Rock and Randy Orton who also made a career in the family business.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Mark Henry explained why that family lineage has helped Mysterio establish himself as a WWE Superstar.

“I put him in the same category as The Rock and the Harts and people that come from pro wrestling,” Henry said. “They have [a] legacy — Randy Orton. There are things that Dominik does that are just intuitive. You can tell he just picked it up. It’s not trained. I mean, you have a lot of reps, so I guess you can consider it to be trained, but he just does stuff that I’m like, ‘That’s a kid out there playing with his toys.’

He knows what he’s doing. And all those years of watching his dad,” he continued, “and all those years of knowing what the bad guy did, knowing all of those things of what his dad had to fight through to get to be who he was. I think it’s paying dividends for him.”

WrestleMania Return For The Rock Appears Unlikely

While Mysterio looks set to be part of WWE for many years to come, The Rock is at the other end of his career.

For months the Hollywood star has been linked with a match against Roman Reigns, although it appears that ship may have sailed. According to the most recent report on the situation, The Rock isn’t scheduled to compete at WrestleMania, and WWE isn’t factoring him into plans for the event.
