WWE Hall Of Famer “Would Rather Chew Their Own Arm Off” Than Watch AEW

Tony Khan AEW

One WWE Hall of Famer is no fan of AEW.

In the eyes of many AEW has ‘restored the feeling’ in recent weeks after a tumultuous 2023 which saw the company fire one of its biggest stars in CM Punk. However, with Revolution just around the corner, an air of positivity has returned with the rivalry between Hangman Adam Page and Swerve Strickland continuing to earn near-universal acclaim.

Meanwhile, Will Ospreay stands on the verge of his first match as an AEW-contracted star, and the company is expected to unveil Mercedes Mone and Kazuchika Okada in the coming weeks.

Despite this, not everyone is happy.

Speaking on Strictly Business, Eric Bischoff made it clear that he feels the promotion is creatively lacking.

“Do I watch the show the show every week? F**k no,” Bischoff said. “I’d rather chew off my arm than sit down for two hours of AEW it’s that bad creatively for me. But I do drop in, I do follow certain aspects of AEW that either I’m interested in or I want to better understand for the purposes of doing this show for example.”

Jen Pepperman Joins AEW

On February 21st, it was announced that former WWE writer Jen Pepperman had signed with AEW. Pepperman only left WWE a week earlier having been with the company since 2017.

It’s widely expected that the writer will work closely with Mercedes Mone, in a similar way to how Brian Gewirtz works with The Rock. Mercedes Mone is expected to become All Elite on March 13th, while it’s been reported that she’s already on the payroll.

Pepperman worked closely with Mone while they were both with WWE, and the star is believed to be Pepperman’s favourite wrestler.

With regard to the signing, Bischoff said the company needs someone with her skillset.

“The product needed someone like Jen. It’s all chemistry. She’s got all the tools,”

The former WWE writer and producer is officially AEW’s new Vice President of Content Development.
