Ex-WWE Champion Confirms Five-Year Contract, No Plans For Retirement
Another top WWE star will be staying with the company.
Throughout 2024, WWE made a huge effort to lock several of its biggest stars into new contracts as they closed on free agency. This drive saw the likes of Drew McIntyre, Damian Priest, Seth Rollins, Randy Orton, Asuka, and more all sign new deals.
In September, it was reported that Sheamus had added his name to that list after committing to the company for another five years.
The star missed the first part of the year with a shoulder injury sustained in August 2023 but returned in April to feud with Pete Dunne before setting his sights on the Intercontinental Championship. The gold remains the only major title Sheamus hasn’t won with the company.
Sheamus Signed Five-Year WWE Deal
During a new interview with Chris Van Vliet, the 46-year-old confirmed he signed a five-year contract and has no plans to retire.
“I just signed a new five-year deal. I’ll go until the wheels fall off. I’ll do it until I can’t physically do it anymore. I love what I do. There is plenty of time to sit back and read a book and watch TV. There is a lot of that.”
Sheamus returned to action on December 30th after suffering a rib injury at Survivor Series as he looked to win the Intercontinental Title from Bron Breakker. The star will be back in the ring on January 13th when he takes on Ludwig Kaiser.
