WWE Fans Spot Another Sign Vince McMahon Is Influencing TV

Vince McMahon

Vince McMahon had been widely expected to assume creative control in WWE at some point after strong-arming his way back on to the company’s Board in early 2023.

As the weeks went on, however, that apparently did not come to pass. Even when he returned backstage to his first show since his short-lived retirement in the summer of 2022, McMahon was said to be letting others continue with the job at hand but the night after WrestleMania 39, that changed.

McMahon was on hand for WWE’s biggest show of the year and he already knew what was revealed on April 3rd when it emerged that the company had done a deal with Endeavor to be taken over and merged into a new company with UFC.

At that day’s Raw, Vince McMahon was described as being “firmly back in charge” with several big changes made at the last minute while morale plummeted in the company.

McMahon wasn’t at SmackDown or at Raw on Monday in Seattle but some fans spotted what they think is a tell-tale sign that he is wielding influence over things.

On Raw, Lita was seen backstage after seemingly being attacked by an unknown assailant. That left Becky Lynch without her WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion partner for their title defence against Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan. While Lynch discussed the attack with Trish Stratus, The Man said that Lita had been taken to a “local medical facility” – WWE speak for hospital, a word that had long been banned in the company by McMahon.

The phrase was also repeated by Corey Graves during the subsequent match that saw Stratus take Lita’s place to defend the championship alongside Becky Lynch. The WWE Hall of Famer ended up getting pinned to lose the titles before viciously attacking The Man.
