Top WWE Executive Wants Jim Cornette In The Hall Of Fame

Jim Cornette

One name at the top of WWE wants to see Jim Cornette inducted into the company’s Hall of Fame despite their strained relationship.

Jim Cornette made his name by the side of The Midnight Express during their epic battles with The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express that set the wrestling world on fire in the mid-eighties.

WWE fans are most familiar with Cornette through his work as a manager in that company where he had the likes of Yokozuna, Owen Hart, The British Bulldog, and Vader in his charge.

Over the years, Jim Cornette has been outspoken about every facet of the wrestling industry with a racism controversy costing him his job as a commentator with the NWA. However, despite being generous with his over-the-top critiques, it seems one man at the top of WWE will still advocate for Cornette’s contributions to the wrestling business to be recognised.

Bruce Prichard Wants Jim Cornette In WWE Hall Of Fame

Speaking on his Something To Wrestle podcast, WWE executive Bruce Prichard was asked about Jim Cornette one day being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and it seems he’s all for it:

I love Jim. I think Jim’s very deserving of being in the Hall of Fame, and I hope one day that he is.

However, it doesn’t seem like Prichard and Cornette have spoken in quite some time and as far as that is concerned, Prichard noted there’s only so much he can do:

Here’s my phone. It works both ways. I have called. I’ve reached out. And I’m in an age where all I can do is I can do. And I’m not going to I’m not going to reach out over and over, and over, and over, and over again.

And then the only time that anyone else ever reaches out is because they need something… the fact of the matter is, phone works both ways. And I’ve made my — you know, I hope I’ve made my feelings known. If I haven’t, then I’m a sh**ty communicator, and I don’t know that I can communicate it any better than I already have.

Jim Cornette was the man to induct The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017 but his own team, The Midnight Express, is still waiting to be inducted.
