WWE Do Not Want Adam Copeland For Shock Return
Despite what many fans might want, WWE do not want Adam Copeland making a shock return to the company.
Adam Copeland took a leave of absence immediately after he and Christian Cage picked up a win over FTR at All Out. After that match, Copeland’s wife, WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix, suffered a spike piledriver at the hands of FTR, leaving Copeland needing to take time away to look after his family.
In reality, Copeland’s time off is so he can film a new Percy Jackson movie, but that didn’t stop fans fantasising that he would be one of his old rival John Cena’s final opponents as his WWE career comes to an end.
But WWE did not want that to happen.
WWE Do Not Want Adam Copeland For John Cena’s Retirement
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer addressed ex-WWE star David Otunga’s recent comments, where he suggested WWE and AEW could strike a deal for AEW to be able to use Andrade in exchange for Copeland facing John Cena in one of his final matches. But Meltzer said WWE did not want the Rated-R Superstar back:
They already decided what they’re doing for Cena’s retirement, and it ain’t Adam Copeland. They don’t want Adam Copeland. Why would they want Adam Copeland? Cena might want him, but that ones not happening, and there’s nothing in that direction.
