WWE Dismisses Claim Hulk Hogan’s Son Was Going To Wrestle Shane McMahon

A rumoured match between Hulk Hogan’s son and Shane McMahon was never going to take place.

During a recent interview, Hogan spoke about a cameo appearance at WrestleMania 39 and even possibly competing in his first match for the company since 2006 following a conversation with McMahon. After Hogan admitted that he was not in any condition to compete, the Hall of Famer revealed that there were plans for his son Nick to take his place.

The report has since been debunked by Fightful Select, who state that Nick Hogan was “never considered” for an appearance at SoFi Stadium back in April. A higher-up in the company was contacted regarding the interview and responded “I can’t think of a time in the last 13 or 14 years that Nick Hogan’s name was brought up at all, much less in a creative capacity.”

Despite neither Hulk nor Nick Hogan making an appearance at WrestleMania 39, Shane McMahon did. The former European Champion sprinted to the ring for the surprise appearance on Mania Sunday, challenging The Miz to an impromptu match. Just as it looked like things were going well, McMahon crashed to the floor after tearing his quad. Realising something was wrong, Snoop Dogg ran into the ring to improvise the finish where he would pin The Miz to hand The A Lister his second loss of the weekend.

During the same interview, Hulk Hogan revealed that there were discussions for him to have a match against another legend of the business at WrestleMania 25 but plans ultimately fell through.
