WWE Day 1 Returning For 2023
2023 is set to start off with a bang in WWE as the company is set to bring back its Day 1 premium live event on New Year’s Day!
2022 saw WWE introduce the wrestling world to a brand new show as they presented Day 1 on New Year’s Day live from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
That event will best be remembered for the cancelled main event between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship with Reigns forced to pull out due to COVID.
Rather than miss out, Lesnar was placed in the WWE Championship match on the evening, turning that into a Fatal Five-Way contest. The Beast Incarnate was able to overcome then-champion Big E, as well as Bobby Lashley, Seth Rollins, and Kevin Owens to claim the title.
Now it looks like Day 1 is making a return for 2023 and a return to the State Farm Arena with the venue beginning to advertise the event on its website. Tickets are slated to go on sale on August 23rd at 10 am.
The State Farm Arena social media account posted more hype for the event, saying:
“World Wrestling Entertainment returns to Atlanta’s State Farm Arena with @WWEDay 1 on Sunday, Jan 1st, NEW YEARS DAY! See your Favorite Superstars from Monday Night RAW & Friday Night Smackdown compete at the 1st Premium Live Event of the New Year!”

One interesting note is that Brock Lesnar is being used in promotional material for the event but there is no indication if he will appear again after his loss to Roman Reigns at SummerSlam.
