WWE Creative Making Plans For Top Free Agent
A highly-rated free agent is closing in on their WWE debut.
On March 13, it was reported that WWE is taking a close look at signing Jeff Cobb. The 42-year-old powerhouse has been working with NJPW since 2017 and has previously wrestled on AEW television.
Back in 2021, the star came close to signing with the sports entertainment giant, but he eventually decided to commit to NJPW once again. However, four years later, it seems the switch is a done deal.
After weeks of speculation, on April 14, it was finally announced by NJPW that Jeff Cobb would be leaving the company after one more match, five days later. In that match, Cobb lost to Hiroshi Tanahashi in a little under nine minutes.
WWE Working On Creative For Jeff Cobb
According to a new report from WrestleVotes, not only is Cobb expected to land in WWE, but his name is being discussed by creative, seemingly hinting his arrival can’t be too far away.
The hotly rumored and much-anticipated WWE debut of Jeff Cobb appears to be drawing closer. Sources indicate his name has recently been brought up in creative discussions. Time will tell how it all unfolds.
Meanwhile, the man himself is determined to have some fun with the speculation for as long as possible. Along with a photo of himself at the beach, Cobb has now claimed he’s retired, and he’s willing to let the waves decide whatever comes next.
Recently, there had also been claims that the company was looking to land now-former Stardom star Mayu Iwatani. However, on May 1, Iwatani was announced as Marigold’s latest signing, although she did admit that her decision to join the company was helped by the fact that it could enable her to work with Giulia, Iyo Sky, and Kairi Sane.
