WWE Could Be Planning 2 WrestleManias In 1 Year

Triple H WWE WrestleMania

WrestleMania is WWE’s showpiece event, but could the company really be planning to hold versions of the event twice in the same year?

In 2020, the COVID pandemic shut down live events across the world, and WWE was no exception. WrestleMania 36 took place behind closed doors, and given the situation, the company decided to do something different and hold the event across two nights.

That idea stuck, and since then, WrestleMania has been a two-night affair. SummerSlam is set to be held across two nights for the first time in 2025 as WWE expands the idea and makes their major events even more of a spectacle.

But could WWE really have plans to hold two events in the same year called WrestleMania? It seems it might be a possibility thanks to Saudi Arabia.

2 WrestleManias In WWE’s Future?

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained that WWE is all but certain to hold WrestleMania in Saudi Arabia but could fight back against any backlash by holding a different version of the show in the Middle East:

They’ve got the Royal Rumble there next year, they got a quote WrestleMania coming. The WrestleMania may be the “Greatest Royal Rumble” WrestleMania, as opposed to the WrestleMania. But they will do a show called WrestleMania. Whether that will be two WrestleManias, there could be. It’s a decision they have to make.

The first show of WWE’s ten-year deal with Saudi Arabia was the Greatest Royal Rumble in 2018. The Royal Rumble proper will take place in the country in 2026.

Night of Champions is set to take place in Riyadh on June 28th, with CM Punk challenging John Cena for the WWE Championship.
