WWE Considering Adding Massive Randy Orton Match To Clash In Paris
WWE is planning to add a match featuring Randy Orton at Clash in Paris PLE.
Various superstars are in the United Kingdom currently at shows that will lead up to the Paris premium live event.
On the August 22 SmackDown taping, The Viper made a surprise appearance in Dublin, Ireland, attacking Drew McIntyre, who continued launching a verbal assault on Cody Rhodes.
During The Scottish Warrior’s segment, Randy Orton sneaked into the ring and hit him with an RKO, reigniting their compelling previous encounters.
Dave Meltzer discussed the upcoming event on Wrestling Observer Radio, stating that the veteran wrestlers have been talked about during creative meets.
There’s at least a solid chance that they’re going to add Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre to the pay-per-view on Sunday. It’s not 100% but it was something that’s been talked about. [H/T: Ringside News]
Randy Orton Gets Candid About His Job In WWE
Randy Orton debuted in the Stamford promotion in 2002, but his run has not been without controversies.
The 14-time World Champion recently sat down with former co-CEO and Chairwoman of WWE, Stephanie McMahon, and reflected on his illustrious career.
He claimed that he was lucky to still have a job with the company, considering his backstage antics reported during his initial days.
I think that, like I said, I feel like I’m lucky to be here. There were so many times where I feel like if it could have been any other day of the week that would have been it, you know what I mean?
As far as my career goes…I was an a**hole back in the day, and still can be.
WWE has yet to air a SmackDown episode on August 29 before Clash in Paris goes under way on August 31.
If the Randy Orton-Drew McIntyre match is in the bag, the official announcement will likely occur then.
Meanwhile, McIntyre recorded a scathing promo after Orton’s attack, alleging he was “trying to find his way out of WWE.”
