WWE Confirms Charlotte Flair Out For 9 Months
Charlotte Flair’s WWE career has come to a shuddering halt for now as the company announces that an injury is set to keep her out of action for a considerable length of time.
Flair has been involved with the ongoing issues on SmackDown with Damage CTRL in recent months. Flair teamed with Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, and Shotzi to defeat the group in WarGames at Survivor Series. But now it looks like Asuka, Bayley, Kairi Sane, IYO SKY, and Dakota Kai have got the upper hand.
On the Tribute To The Troops edition of SmackDown Flair took on Asuka in a singles bout that Bayley interfered in to help Asuka pick up the win. Now on SmackDown in Green Bay, Wisconsin, the announcers noted a knee injury suffered by Flair in that match with Kevin Patrick adding that The Queen will be out of action for around nine months.
Charlotte Flair Floored By Knee Injury
WWE has confirmed on social media that Charlotte Flair will not be able to return until well into 2024 and has confirmed she will undergo surgery. The nine month timeframe means Flair has likely torn her ACL as this is the usual timeframe for other wrestling stars who have suffered that injury.
Charlotte Flair made her shock return to WWE on the final edition of SmackDown in 2022 after seven months out of action that year which makes this her second lengthy layoff in three years. What this means for ongoing plans with Damage CTRL, Flair, and her allies remains to be seen.
Flair is not the only wrestling star facing up to missing time from the ring as Kenny Omega revealed he is out of action in AEW indefinitely due to illness.
Everyone at TJR Wrestling sends their best wishes to Charlotte Flair for a full and speedy recovery.
