5-Time WWE Champion May Face CM Punk For Vacant World Title

CM Punk WWE entrance

CM Punk earned a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship on Raw 10/13.

The Best in the World won the number 1 contendership for Seth Rollins’ World Heavyweight Championship on the October 13 edition of Monday Night Raw, after he defeated LA Knight and Jey Uso in a triple threat match.

He was set to challenge Rollins for the title, but the latter was attacked after the main event. Given what happened on Raw this week, it is likely that The Visionary will be written TV for a while. Plus, he also sustained an injury at Crown Jewel and might get stripped off his title. This would leave Punk to face the man who led the coup against Rolins, i.e., Bron Breakker, who is a five-time champion in WWE.

CM Punk vs Bron Breakker for the World Heavyweight Championship

Speaking on the Notsam Wrestling podcast, wrestling analyst Sam Roberts commented on the scenario, saying that it’s totally plausible to see Punk and Breakker fight for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship.

The match that we’re building towards is theoretically Seth Rollins versus CM Punk. Unless you’re doing something where Seth Rollins is going to be off TV and you figure out a way to have a match where, I don’t know, Bron Breaker and CM Punk are fighting for a vacated World Heavyweight title. I mean, that’s one way you could do it.

Sam Roberts also talked about the reason he thinks Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed decided to turn against Seth Rollins on his podcast. According to him, the Brons betrayed Rollins because he didn’t value them enough.

“Even though he (Seth Rollins) beat Cody Rhodes, the thing that he was afraid of happening if he lost to Cody Rhodes happened, even though he beat Cody. And I think it happened for a couple of reasons. Number one, he was taking Bron Breakker for granted. He was taking Bronson Reed for granted. These guys were taking care of business, and he made it seem like they were just foot soldiers to him, even though he could get work done anyway,” said Sam Roberts (11:06 – 11:35)
