Change is coming to WWE SmackDown.

According to a new report from Dave Scherer of PWInsider, Michael Cole’s run at the SmackDown announce desk has come to an end. In recent months, Cole had been across both Raw and SmackDown linking up with Corey Graves and Kevin Patrick on the blue brand.

However, WWE will now revert to two-person announce teams. This will leave Michael Cole and Wade Barrett on Raw, Kevin Patrick and Corey Graves on SmackDown, and Vic Joseph and Booker T on NXT.

Michael Cole has been with WWE since 1997, serving as the company’s lead announcer for over 15 years.

Roman Reigns To Get New Challenger On WWE SmackDown

On the first SmackDown of 2024, a new number one contender for Roman Reigns’ Undisputed Universal WWE Title will be decided. On the show, AJ Styles, Randy Orton, and LA Knight will meet in a huge clash, with the winner going on to face Reigns at the Royal Rumble.

It’s long been believed that Orton will emerge victorious and challenge the Tribal Chief.

Roman Reigns might soon have another challenger in the form of The Rock after he teased a clash with the star on Raw. A match between the pair has been rumoured for years, but now appears closer than ever.
