WWE Possibly Forced To Change Survivor Series Main Event (SPOILERS)
A new report suggests that WWE might have to make a major change to their planned Survivor Series – WarGames main event.
A brawl between eight men at the conclusion of the 11th November 2022 edition of Friday Night SmackDown has led to plenty of speculation that those competitors will be the ones stepping inside the steel structure later this month.
With The Bloodline in the ring proclaiming their dominance, they were confronted by The Brawling Brutes who were joined by the returning Sheamus. This led to a brawl which also brought out Drew McIntyre, with the fight continuing as the show went off the air.
A report from Mike Johnson at Pro Wrestling Insider claims that these eight men will indeed by part of the WarGames match at Survivor Series. The report notes that Sami Zayn, who was absent at SmackDown, is set to join The Bloodline, whilst the opposition team will be completed by Kevin Owens, however, that plan might need to be scrapped.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained that Kevin Owens is currently rehabbing an injury and it could be touch and go if Owens will be able to make Survivor Series:
“It is confirmed that the main event on the WWE pay-per-view – Survivor Series – was going to be The Bloodline, Roman Reigns, The Usos, Sami Zayn, and Solo Sikoa against Butch, Sheamus, Ridge Holland, Drew McIntyre, and Kevin Owens. However, because Kevin Owens suffered an injury, which the last I heard was a sprained MCL, he was going to get it checked out.”
“[…] [Owens] is rehabbing it, I don’t know if he will be ready for the pay-per-view or not. If they do an angle on Friday and throw someone else in on SmackDown, that tells you that he wasn’t ready. I do know from somebody that was – I did hear that he’s not moving very well so he better heal up quick if he’s gonna make that pay-per-view. I don’t know if he will or he won’t.”
