New WWE Champion Promises To Rebuild The Company
A new champion was crowned on the November 7 edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown. The star in question is none other than Chelsea Green.
Green became the inaugural women’s United States Champion last year after defeating Michin in the 2024 Women’s United States Championship Tournament finals. She won the title again on the latest episode of the blue brand show after beating Guilia.
The Hot Mess is now a two-time Women’s United States Champion in WWE. She boasted about her victory in a backstage video, where she can be seen celebrating her title win with Alba Fyre, Etan Page, and the WWE Universe.
The new Women’s United States Champion said, “We did what we said we were gonna do. Like we always do. Double champ. Mixed AAA Tag Team Champions and your first and fourth ever longest reigning, most dangerous United States Women’s Champion. Adios!”
A short while later, the newly crowned champion took to her X/Twitter account to share a powerful message where she promised to rebuild the Stamford-based company as the new champion.
Green tweeted, “I vow to rebuild our company and this WWE United States Women’s Championship starting TODAY. Red, White, & GREEN begins now. The second term will be the most historic @WWENXT @luchalibreaaa”

Matt Cardona Congratulates Chelsea Green On Becoming WWE Women’s United States Champion
Chelsea Green’s husband, Matt Cardona, congratulated her after her WWE Women’s United States Championship title victory on SmackDown with a heartfelt tweet. He wrote:
Matt Cardona wrote, “Omg! I am a 2 time 1/2 of the Women’s United States Champion!”
Chelsea Green and Matt Cardona (formerly known as Zack Ryder in the Stamford-based promotion) have been together since 2017 and got married on New Year’s Eve 2021.
Despite their busy wrestling careers, often on different circuits, they share a supportive and loving relationship. Green has expressed hope for Cardona’s return to the Triple H-led company to travel and work alongside her.
