2-Time WWE NXT Champion Karrion Kross received a major warning from WWE because of social media promos.

In the first half of 2025, Kross was kept off TV for some unknown reason, despite having tons of fan support and engagement. Kross didn’t let this demotivate him and tried something out of the box to keep his fans entertained. He started cutting promos on social media, thinking that it would help his character stay connected with the fans, but it totally backfired.

Speaking on The Coach And Bro Show with Jonathan Coachman and Vince Russo, Kross’ wife, Scarlet, revealed that when Kross started doing off-script social media promos, WWE didn’t like it and even issued a warning to him.

Scarlett said, “I’m thinking back to when you started doing your promos on the weeks we weren’t on TV, and you would get a lot of views. When people were coming to you saying, “Hey, you’ve got to go through creative for the things that you were doing.”
Kross acknowledged, “That is true, actually, yeah.” (From 16:59)

WWE Heavily Criticized Karrion Kross’ Post-WrestleMania Pipe Bomb Promo

Speaking further on the podcast, Karrion Kross also revealed that his controversial post-WrestleMania pipe bomb promo, which blurred the lines between storyline and reality, blew up and brought him tons of heat, despite the creative team’s approval. He disclosed the promo was obviously a work, but it somehow upset many people backstage.
“So, it goes up, and not everybody’s in lockstep with knowing it was out there. I got a call from someone from talent relations, being like, “There’s major heat.” Like, they even use the word heat, which I thought was funny. They were saying it was from the writers.
And so, just like the last time something silly happened, I was like, “Well, I’ll just go speak with the writers. This is a misunderstanding. Let me see exactly what it is that they want out of me, and we’ll redirect it. This isn’t a big deal.” Heat. What are you talking about? This isn’t, you know what I mean? It’s a show.” (From 19:22)
