Former WWE Champion has one condition to join Tony Khan’s All Elite Wrestling.

Jinder Mahal (now Raj Dhesi) was released from WWE in July 2024 as part of a series of roster cuts. Since then, he’s kept a relatively low profile in wrestling but stayed active with personal training and appearances on the independent circuit.

Mahal has also been spending time developing his brand outside the ring, including fitness and motivational work, keeping himself ready for his next big opportunity in professional wrestling.

Ex-WWE Star Jinder Mahal’s Condition For Joining AEW

Ever since leaving WWE, there have been rumors that Mahal will end up in AEW. The ex-WWE star recently spoke on the matter with TMZ Inside The Ring. He made it clear that if he’s going to join AEW, it has to be for the right reasons.

He stated he wouldn’t want to sign just to collect a paycheck; instead, he wants to be part of a creative storyline that challenges him and keeps fans invested. Mahal wants creative respect and an opportunity to prove himself with meaningful moments, rather than being a filler on the roster.

Uh, not on that end, but I would have to see if the business makes sense. What’s the storyline? Is there a plan for me, or am I just coming to do nothing? And yeah, just ‘cause it’s not a good feeling when you get paid every week and you’re not earning it. I’m past that point in my life, past that point in my career.

Whatever I do, I want to do something next level—whether it’s in wrestling, in business, or in something else. I don’t want to just coast anymore. So yeah, of course I’d be open to it, but it would have to make sense on a financial level, on a storyline level, on a creative level. All of those things have to make sense.

Recently, Jinder Mahal reunited with former 3MB stablemates Drew McIntyre and Heath Slater at his wedding, showing the close bonds he’s maintained with his wrestling friends. The reunion was a heartfelt moment for Mahal, highlighting the camaraderie and friendships built during their WWE days. Mahal got married to his long-time girlfriend, Priya, on June 27, 2025.
