Veteran claims Stone Cold Steve Austin will never wrestle again.

Steve Austin had a legendary but relatively short wrestling career, starting in 1989 and effectively ending in 2003. His career peaked during the WWF Attitude Era, where he became a six-time WWF Undisputed World Heavyweight Champion and one of the most iconic wrestlers of all time.

However, his in-ring career was cut short primarily due to a serious neck injury sustained during years of physical matches and a 1999 car accident, which forced him to retire in 2003 at the age of 38 to protect his long-term health.

Austin’s last official televised match before retirement was against The Rock at WrestleMania XIX in 2003, where he lost a singles match. Although that was his last regular match, he made a one-off return to the ring in 2022 for a No Holds Barred match against Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38.

WWE Legend Steve Austin Is Done With Wrestling

Austin is officially retired from the ring but remains active in the wrestling world through appearances, podcasts, and media projects. Speaking on the latest episode of the Story Time podcast, veteran Dutch Mantell was asked if the fans could see him return to WWE, probably for one more final match against John Cena, before the latter retires.

Mantell suggested that it’s highly unlikely to happen given Austin’s physical health condition. He pointed out that if Austin does return to WWE, no way he’d get involved in anything that requires him to get physical.
No. I don’t think he would even attempt it to tell you the truth unless it’s a talking segment or something, or where he could hit somebody, and it’d have to be really, really short. (From 16:10)
It isn’t certain that Steve Austin will return to WWE again, but it was recently reported that he is angry with the company. During an appearance on Games With Names, Hall of Famer Ric Flair revealed that The Texas Rattlesnake is “mad” at WWE for not giving him the trademark to his in-ring name “Stone Cold”.
