WWE Botched Surprise Appearance For Hall Of Famer
Not everything in WWE always goes to plan.
On January 6th, Monday Night Raw made its long-awaited debut on Netflix. To celebrate, several celebrities joined the great and the good of professional wrestling inside the Inuit Dome as WWE moved into a new era.
On the show, John Cena made his return and entered the Royal Rumble, and The Rock only added to speculation about his future. Meanwhile, an appearance from Hulk Hogan didn’t go quite as planned, and The Undertaker celebrated Rhea Ripley’s Women’s World Title win alongside the star.
Throughout the night, several big names were also shown at ringside including Stephanie McMahon and Nikki Bella, but it seems someone was missing.
The Undertaker Reveals WWE Botch
Speaking on his Six Feet Under podcast, The Undertaker looked back at the episode and revealed WWE did originally have another surprise in store. He explained that Shawn Michaels was supposed to be on the show and was actually backstage, but when it came time for him to appear in the crowd, no one went to his dressing room to fetch him.
“Shawn was there. I don’t think Shawn was on the show. I think he was supposed to be in the crowd sitting with Stephanie, and no one came and got him, or something like that. He was just sitting in his dressing room when his spot came up to be in the crowd. Bruce Prichard. We all took a picture together because we were the only three that were on the original Raw and the Netflix deal,”
Fans might not have to wait long to see the star back on television after it was reported that Shawn Michaels will be at Saturday Night’s Main Event in San Antonio, Texas.
While reflecting on his own involvement on Raw alongside Rhea Ripley, The Undertaker said he wants to be on WWE television less in the future. The Hall of Famer added that he told Triple H he feels he shouldn’t be involved more than every couple of years.
