WWE Announce Big Change As Great American Bash Returns
WWE is bringing back the former WCW staple The Great American Bash once again but there is one big change for the now-NXT show.
NXT Heatwave saw a new NXT Champion crowned as Trick Williams proved to be the master of his own downfall in a huge four-way main event involving Shawn Spears, Ethan Page, and Je’Von Evans. However, it was not the new champion everyone was talking about after the show as TNA’s Joe Hendry was seen in a cameo appearance as the show went off the air hinting at his future involvement with the brand.
It was a better night for the other NXT champions in action as Kelani Jordan, Oba Femi, Nathan Frazer & Axiom as well as Roxanne Perez all retained their gold.
Great American Bash Returns To WWE
During Heatwave, a commercial aired touting the return of The Great American Bash to WWE. The show will not be an NXT premium live event but rather a TV special for the brand airing on Tuesday, August 6th.
Rather than its current home of the USA Network, however, the show will instead air on SYFY due to coverage of the Olympic Games that will be on during that time.

2023’s Great American Bash saw Carmelo Hayes retain the NXT Title against Ilja Dragunov while Tiffany Stratton also held on to her NXT Women’s Title by defeating Thea Hail.
Hayes, Dragunov, and Stratton are now part of WWE’s main roster and Tiffany Stratton earned the biggest win of her career at Money In The Bank.
