WWE Backstage Reaction To AJ Lee’s In-Ring Return Revealed
AJ Lee returned to in-ring action at Wrestlepalooza on Saturday.
This was her first time wrestling a match in over 10 years, after retiring in 2015 due to an injury.
During her time away from the business, Lee has become a successful author, with her memoir, Crazy Is My Superpower, becoming a New York Times Best Seller.
She has also teamed up with Hollywood actress Aimee Garcia to contribute towards multiple comic books, as well as Blade of the 47 Ronin, a Netflix movie released in 2022.
AJ Lee returned to WWE on September 5, where she attacked Becky Lynch.
She wrestled in her first match post-return at Wrestlepalooza, teaming up with her husband CM Punk against Lynch and her husband Seth Rollins.
Lee finished the match by submitting the Women’s Intercontinental Champion to her Black Widow submission.

In the leadup to the Wrestlepalooza match, AJ Lee spoke about not knowing how her neck injury would hold up.
Even CM Punk expressed concern about his wife’s injury, explaining how he felt when she was dropped on her neck on the RAW episode before the premium live event.
According to an update from Fightful Select, wrestlers in WWE did not see any ring rust in Lee and were happy with her in-ring performance.
