WWE Asked For Surprising Star By Indy Promotion
The wrestling world was surprised when it emerged a WWE star was appearing on an indy show over WrestleMania weekend and now more details of the move have come to light.
Former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Shayna Baszler will be featured on Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport which takes place on April 4th.
The move took many by surprise as WWE stars don’t generally get to appear on independent shows and Bloodsport has frequently featured AEW stars on the show in the past. Johnny Bloodsport (Johnny TV) will be in action on the show and is so far the only active member of Tony Khan’s roster advertised for the 2024 show which is promoted by Game Changer Wrestling.
Another WWE Star Sought By GCW
Fightful Select has now reported more on the situation and revealed that is not the first time GCW has made a play to get a WWE star on the show. Several years ago Josh Barnett asked about having ex-WWE star and Baszler’s fellow MMA Four Horsewoman Jessamyn Duke on his show. That never came to pass and Duke has not wrestled since being released by WWE in May 2021.
It was noted that Triple H and Josh Barnett have known each other for several years and it was Barnett who made the personal request for Shayna Baszler to appear on his show. So far it has not been confirmed who Baszler’s opponent on the show will be.
