WWE Teases AJ Lee’s Return Ahead Of SmackDown

AJ Lee WWE Ring

After over a decade of absence, AJ Lee made her return to WWE before the Wrestlepalooza 2025 event.

At the inaugural WWE premium live event on September 20, she teamed up with her husband, CM Punk, to take on another WWE real-life couple, Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch. Lee grabbed the big victory for her team by making The Man tap out. Following the event, fans were hoping to see The Black Widow go after Lynch and her Intercontinental Championship, but she’s been a no-show so far. However, WWE recently teased her return to TV.

Ahead of this week’s SmackDown episode, WWE shared a clip on its official Instagram page where they hinted at Lee’s return. Earlier this week, on Monday Night RAW. CM Punk confronted The Vision and Logan Paul, and Paul Heyman insulted his wife. WWE recently added the clip on social media with a caption mentioning AJ Lee. This could be a sign that WWE is preparing for her comeback on television.

WWE wrote, “@theajmendez, do us all a favor and 👊 these boys!”

AJ Lee Reportedly Planned For Survivor Series

This week on Monday Night RAW in Boston, WWE confirmed the women’s WarGames lineup for Survivor Series. Rhea Ripley, IYO Sky, Charlotte Flair, and Alexa Bliss will team up against Nia Jax, The Kabuki Warriors, and Lash Legend. Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, AJ Lee and Becky Lynch could be added to the WarGames match, with both girls acting as captains for each team.

Meltzer said, “On the women’s side, AJ Lee and Becky Lynch were going to be the captains. So they could still be added, but…in the end, that would have to happen next week. But we know eight of the people, which would be Lash Legend, Nia Jax, and the Kabuki Warriors, and Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, and…Rhea Ripley and…IYO SKY, yeah.” [H/t: WrestlingInc]

As for the men’s WarGames, CM Punk, Jey Uso, and Cody Rhodes vs Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and Logan Paul have been announced so far.
