WCW Legend Predicts Who Will Dethrone Roman Reigns

There’s only one choice to defeat Roman Reigns.

The Tribal Chief has reigned supreme over WWE since winning the Universal Title in August 2020. During this period Reigns has defeated all comers and added the WWE Championship with victory over Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38.

This incredible run has seen Reigns get the better of the likes of John Cena, Drew McIntyre, Edge, Daniel Bryan, Finn Balor, and more. In short, Reigns has faced every major star in the company and triumphed often more than once.

Arguably the biggest threat to Reigns’ dominance came at WrestleMania 39 where he faced Cody Rhodes. Despite the American Nightmare being a favourite among fans, he eventually fell to the champion.

However, veteran and WCW legend Kevin Sullivan believes Rhodes is still the man to pin Reigns. Speaking on Tuesday with The Taskmaster, Sullivan said Rhodes is the logical choice.

“They’re gonna let Cody do it. When it’s time, and they’re all in there together, and they’re gonna say, ‘Oh, by the way, Roman is going to Hollywood. We’re gonna have him [appear] only eight times a year. We have a guy ready, we’d like you to listen to what we have planned.'”

Although Rhodes could be the man to defeat Reigns, Sullivan doesn’t think he’ll be able to remain a clear-cut babyface.

“He’s going to be half heel and half babyface. He could do that. He can be a John Cena almost,” Sullivan said of Rhodes. “Let me ask you a question: how many times is he going to say he’s Dusty’s kid?”

Ever since Rhodes was defeated by Reigns at WrestleMania 39, they were linked with a huge rematch 12 months later. Although the pair have gone their separate ways since that clash, they recently came face to face on SmackDown, hinting that their rivalry is far from over.

The match is one of four seemingly being teased for the spectacular in April 2024.
