Wrestling Legend Saves Sting On AEW Rampage (SPOILER)

Sting AEW

Sting found himself in need of a spot of assistance at AEW Grand Slam Rampage only to be helped out by a wrestling legend he has a history with.

The former WCW World Champion is still to taste defeat in AEW but that record was put to the test again at AEW Grand Slam Rampage that will air on Friday, September 23rd. In the match taped following Grand Slam Dynamite Sting teamed with Darby Allin to take on The House Of Black duo Brody King and Buddy Matthews.

Sting and Darby Allin kept their undefeated record intact by picking up the win but the headlines were made by how they came about their victory.

With Sting defenceless having been sat on a chair with his hands tied behind his back, Buddy Matthews was set to use The Icon’s own baseball bat against him. However, in House of Black fashion the lights went out and when they came back on Matthews and Sting were not alone.

Japanese legend and former WCW star The Great Muta appeared in the ring seemingly set to take the fight to the man he exchanged several wins on numerous Starrcades with. Instead, Muta turned to Matthews, delivering a dragon screw before spraying him with his patented poison mist.

That act sent Matthews into Julia Hart, who was on the ring apron, and Hart went flying to the floor below. In a video that has surfaced online of the incident, it is unclear if Julia Hart hit the table that was positioned directly behind her when she crashed to the floor.
