Wrestling Legend Responds To Jabs From AEW’s Toni Storm
“Timeless” Toni Storm might have a surprising new challenger.
While taking on and defeating all-comers in AEW, Toni Storm has taken repeated shots at wrestling veteran Wendy Richter.
Richter began wrestling in the late 1970s and was involved in the “original screwjob” in 1985. The star was due to defend her Women’s Title at Madison Square Garden against a mysterious opponent known as The Spider. During the match, The Spider forced Richter’s shoulders to the mat to win the gold — despite the champion kicking out before the mysterious wrestler was revealed to be The Fabulous Moolah.
The plot was reportedly created by Vince McMahon, and Richter never spoke to Moolah again.
In recent months, Toni Storm has repeatedly called out Richter warning she would “f*ck her up” during the post-AEW Worlds End press conference.
During a Highspots Virtual Gimmick Table signing, Richter has now responded, telling the AEW Women’s Champion to bring it on.
“Well, you know, money does talk. If they could cough up enough money I’d take her on!
I’d even give her the first swing. Bring it, Toni. You think you can beat me?
I’d like to see it. I’m not afraid!”
Nikki Bella Confused By Toni Storm’s X-Rated Insults
Richter hasn’t been Storm’s only target, with the star telling Nikki Bella she couldn’t “hold a pussy-scented candle to what I do.” The WWE Hall of Famer also recently took the chance to respond to Tony Storm, admitting she was confused about the insult.
Speaking on her post podcast, Nikki Bella had previously revealed she was tempted to join AEW. The star said she was inspired by Mercedes Mone’s AEW debut and contemplated contacting Tony Khan about joining the company.
