3-Time World Champion Predicted To Join AEW After WWE Exit
This WWE legend and former Champion could join rival promotion AEW after quitting WWE recently, predicts another famous wrestler.
Hardcore legend Mick Foley recently quit WWE following their relationship with U.S. President Donald Trump, whom he despises and has a firm stance against. Trump is a WWE Hall of Famer and collaborator.
Not only has Foley quit the promotion to cut his appearances, but he is also refusing to renew his WWE Legends contract, which expires in 2026, effectively ending his association with the Stamford-based promotion.
In a recent interview, the Hardcore legend slammed President Trump for being a selfish con man who only thinks about himself and doesn’t care about the American citizens. The former WWE Champion said many hard-working Americans fail to realize this and have not looked up the data that proves Trump’s bad track record. He then shockingly departed from the wrestling promotion where he achieved fame and success.
Mick Foley Could Come Back As The Commissioner Of AEW After WWE Exit, Says Matt Hardy.
Hardy, who is a WWE legend himself, recently predicted on his podcast The Extreme Life Of Matt Hardy that if he were the person in charge of AEW cretive, he would love to have Mick Foley on board as a Commissioner for entertainment value.
Fans of the Attitude Era will recall that Mick Foley retired from active competition in 2000 and continued to make appearances as “The Commissioner of the WWF” under his real name, dropping his previous wrestling personas such as Mankind and Cactus Jack. The character was intended to be a role model for nerds, with him having closets for offices and cracking lame jokes.
Hardy says that it could happen again if Foley ever considers joining AEW to add more entertainment value to their product.
If I was booking AEW, I would put Mick in a commissioner role and have him go out and just be entertaining as sh*t. I would put him as like a commissioner or an authority figure in some way, much like he did that time with, ‘Tables, ladders and chairs, oh my.’
Just have him go out and entertain people. He’s a legend. He’s respected. You’re not going to see him in the ring, so I think the AEW fans would accept it. Just try and get some entertainment value out of him in that way.
Matt Hardy predicts that Mick Foley will appear in AEW in 2026, gives the idea of Foley having a commissioner role:
