6-time World Champion Mickie James hints at a WWE return.

Mickie James first rose to prominence by debuting on WWE’s main roster in 2005, quickly becoming a vital part of the women’s division through her iconic storyline with Trish Stratus as a fan-turned-stalker.

At WrestleMania 22, she won her first Women’s Championship: a title she ultimately held five times throughout her career, cementing her legacy as one of the division’s top performers. In 2009, Mickie James also captured the Divas Championship by defeating Maryse at Night of Champions, making her one of the select Divas to hold both titles simultaneously.

Mickie James’s last WWE match was a historic return at the 2022 Royal Rumble. While officially part of TNA at that time, she was invited to compete in the Women’s Royal Rumble match as Impact Knockouts Champion, entering at No. 20 with her ‘Hardcore Country’ theme and the championship belt. She lasted nearly twelve minutes, eliminated Michelle McCool, and was eventually tossed out by Lita.

Mickie James Is Open for Another WWE Run

Now, almost three and a half years after her last appearance in the Stamford-based promotion, Mickie James teased returning to WWE during her interview on the Busted Open Radio podcast. She said:

“But I was having a conversation with someone, and they were like, ‘Oh, could you do one more run?’ And I was like, ‘Hell yeah, I could do one more run. I got it in me, you know?’ And they were like, ‘Oh, what do you have to prove?’ And I go, ‘You know what? I’ve been really blessed.”

:I think I set out and achieved all my goals.’ I don’t really have anything else to prove. I think I’ve proved everything that I could prove. If anything, it would be like, ‘Oh, I can still go with these girls.’ But you know, I can—I can whoop them all.” [H/T Ringside News]

TNA inducted Mickie James into the TNA Wrestling Hall of Fame on Sunday, October 12, 2025, during the Bound For Glory event at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, Massachusetts.
